The Office of University Relations serves as the office of protocol for Rice University. We provide assistance to Rice departments, faculty or staff hosting government officials, international dignitaries and other VIPs.

Consultation and Tours

Our staff provides consultation on contacting and properly receiving VIP guests, proper gift protocol and visit follow-up. The Rice Student Ambassadors, a volunteer corps of students trained in protocol, are available to give tours to visiting VIPs during their stay at Rice.

Flags and Displays

We have a large inventory of international flags available for loan to Rice departments for special events, as well as Rice tablecloths, banners and a free standing display unit.
