Become a 'host friend' to an international student
During the fall semester, Rice will welcome 290 international students to campus. The journey, for most, will be their first trip to the United States. To help these students get acquainted with American culture and Houston, Rice is seeking faculty and staff members interested in becoming a ‘host friend’ through the Friends of International Students and Scholars program.

Watching your weight?
Need to shed a few pounds? Weight Watchers is returning to Rice. The program resumes July 14 with Monday meetings throughout the summer. The school will subsidize half the cost of the meetings for benefits-eligible faculty and staff.
