Rice University is in Houston, Texas, one of the most rapidly growing and vibrant cities in America. It is the fourth-largest city in the United States and is part of Harris County, the third most populous county in the nation.

Houston has many sides. As a leader in business, entertainment and the arts, it also boasts an impressively diverse cultural side. Harris county is composed of 37 percent Anglo, 24 percent African-American, 38 percent Hispanic and 7 percent Asian or other residents.
