The Rice University seal

The Rice University seal features the Owls of Athena, symbolic of wisdom. The three Athenian owls were patterned after a design found on a small, silver tetradrachm coin dating from the middle of the fifth century B.C.

The seal is the official business emblem of Rice University. Only the Board of Trustees and the president may use the Rice seal. Do not use the seal without permission.
